HepaHealth Founder gets awarded a Community Service Award by Harvard Medical School

HepaHealth Founder Dr. Jiska van der Reest was selected as a recipient of the 2020 Harvard Medical School Dean’s Community Service Award for her work with HepaHealth (formerly GOViral).

The Dean’s Community Service Award was established in 1999 to recognize and celebrate faculty, trainees, students, and staff of Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine who have made exceptional efforts to serve the community.

Members of the HMS/HSDM community were invited to identify outstanding ndividuals whose dedication and commitment to community service hadve made a positive impac on the local and/or global community. An advisory committee comprised of representatives of Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and its affiliates carefully reviewed and discussed each nomination and recommended this year’s recipients.

Harvard Medical School will also make a donation to HepaHealth in honor of this award. We have dedicated these funds to launch a COVID-19 Food Assistance Program for our indigent patient community in Davao City.

The Award Recipients were honored during a virtual ceremony held on July 20 at 12:00 noon. Read more at: https://dicp.hms.harvard.edu/awards/deanscommunityserviceaward
